I was born in Czech mountains. When I was 20 years old and studying abroad, I saw the ocean and tried surfing - both for the first time. I fell in love with that lifestyle and sport almost immediately... Ever since I have been living mostly in Lisbon sometimes in Prague or Bali, as so called digital nomad, working on transforming my dreams into reality.

urfing has been my childhood dream, and since I first started in New Zealand in 2013, I’ve stayed close to the ocean, knowing I never wanted to stop. Over the past decade, I have lived between New Zealand, Australia, and Indonesia, spending most of the last 10 years here in Indonesia. I surf almost every day, dedicating myself to understanding the ocean and reading the conditions it brings. My surfing goal is clear — to win Olympic gold. And if that doesn’t work out for me personally, I am determined to focus on the next generation of surfers, supporting their growth and development through the Bali Cliff Surf Club, based in Bali.

Participation in WSG 2024 Puerto Rico
Hello! My name is Klara, and I was born in the Czech Republic. I am 28 years old. I have been active in sports since I was a child, and later I focused on track and field at a professional level. After finishing my athletics career, I started traveling, and during a trip to Sri Lanka I discovered surfing. I immediately fell in love with the sport and the lifestyle around it.
Now I spend most of my time in Portugal, mainly in the Peniche area, where I also work as a surf instructor. In 2024, I took part in my first big international competition — the ISA World Surfing Games in Puerto Rico. This year, I also competed at the European Surfing Championships in Portugal. Surfing has become my biggest passion, and I am proud to represent my country in the sport I love.
Born and raised in Czechia, landlock country. I started surfing at 30. During my teens/university I did lots of skateboarding. I have masters in architecture and urbanism and work as an architect.
I was always scared of water. As a baby, bath time was when I would freeze. Not like freezing cold but frozen in shock. At 2 years old, playing near the water I fell in and I was drowning. This happened again and my parents were worried I moght never learn to swim.
I lived in Barcelona for a year, in Copenhagen for 4 years then I moved to Sydney to chase the surf and beach life everyday.
I learnt how to surf at Bondi going every morning no matter the conditions, small, onshore, glassy, unless too big.
Sometimes I ended up crying on the beach because the surf was too much for my skills. I learned to respect the ocean.
My first trip to Bali I had a long hold-down whcih triggered my childhood drowning experience. I was not able to surf anything over 2ft and often had panic attacks in the water.
I started apnea trainings which helped with my breath-work and mental game. My teacher calls it the Ninja mindset. It changed me and helped me get over my struggles when I was in the washing machine wipeout.
My family still can't understand how on Earth I ended up in Australia surfing myself out. The ocean got me, it's addictive and I can't stop.
