I grew up in the Netherlands, surfing mostly in Holland (it may be cold and the waves may be shitty but the Dutchies are very stoked and so it's always fun!).

Professionally, I am a user experience researcher for the city of The Hague (my hometown). In a nutshell, I try to figure out what citizens need from their local government.

In my free time I surf and do fun things with my hubby and doggo.

Coming from a small village in the Netherlands, surfing was not the most logical option for Kaspar. Despite the lack of good waves and the stormy weather, Kaspar fell in love with surfing at age 13. Not blessed with daily good swells young Kaspar had to wait at times for weeks before the next swell would arrive. But when the day finally arrived there would be nothing standing in the way of him and the waves. His determination and passion for the sport has brought him to where he is today. Winning 5 National titles a Benelux title and other impressive performances for the Dutch National surf team are only some of his victories. Besides training for the next competitions, planning new surftrips and spending as much time as possible in foreign waters, Kaspar enjoys coaching surfers at his surfschool Dutch Surf Academy.

I grew up in scheveningen near the beach and learned surfing there togheter with my brother Tom (who is also in the team) as a surfer in Holland, you need a lot of patience. Sometimes it could be flat for weeks. But most of the time in autumn and winter we get some nice swells. This is my 5th time participating in the ISA World Surfing Games.

I am Tom Boelsma, 23 years old and living in The Hague. And surfing a lot in the Netherlands, because of study.

I was born in The Netherlands and lived there for about half of my life. Now I live on the small Dutch Caribbean island of Curaçao (yes, the island of "Blue Curaçao"), where I am privilaged to be able to enjoy the ocean almost every day....without a wetsuit ;-).  I am very happy for this opportunity to represent The Netherlands and to be part of this great surfing family.
