I come from a fishing village and a fishing family. I started surfing 5 years ago with a piece of wood. Later I used to surf with pieces of surfboards that the older ones had broken off. Last year, I won the local championship and this year, I won the national championship. My favority surfeur is Kelly Slater because of his extraordinary career. But one of my dream was to compete one day with our former nation champion, Jeje Vidal , in the same heat. A dream actually come true and I felt so proud. He's our best surfeur in São Tomé but he lives now in Portugal. He actually participated to the ISA WJSC in 2016 in Azores. I'm glad to follow his path in 2023 in Rio and I hope I will perform even better than him.

My favorite surfeur is Yago Dora and I would love to meet him one day. One of my dream is to become a professional surfeur and travel participating to international competitions of surf as a pro. It's the first time I've been away from my island of Sao Tomé and I'm glad this is for a surf event. I'm really excited.
