Sou a Raquel, faço surf desde que me lembro que existo, comecei a surfar de pranchinha e no verão fazia Longboard as vezes, e foi quando o meu pai viu e disse-me para experimentar fazer Longboard, e agora aqui estamos nós a fazer inscrição para o Mundial da ISA

I was born in Lisbon, Portugal. 
Started surfing when I was around 7years old. 
I competed on shortboard in Junior divisions until I started competing on longboard divinsion when I was around 16years old. 
I started working at the same time in sailing, giving sailing classes, sailing tours and doing sailing transfers to get money to compete and it became a big passion. 
I love to be I the ocean and is where everything makes sense to me.

Learned surfing when I was 12 and since then became passionate about it.  First I dedicated to shortboard but my coach did longboard too so I started following him around and ended up longboarding to. When I started competing in Portugal there were no Women divisions but still I liked it because it was different from others sports I competed in (Trampoline Gymnastics) and is a little bit more relaxed.

Never stopped surfing since then and now I surf everytime I can, although its not that often because of my work (medical doctor) that consumes most of my time.

Regardless is always good to surf good waves in good company, either in freesurf or competition.
