I started practicing different competitive sports since I was 6 years old. At the age of 9 I discovered surfing, the best sport of all, since that day I have not stopped practicing it. This is my first Junior World Cup and I am proud to be able to represent Peru, gain experience to go forward.

I come from a surfer family, my dad and my brother are my biggest surfing inspiration. By biggest playing field is and has always been the ocean. My backyard are the best waves of Peru. I inherited the passion for competition since I was born, and now im going to prove it.

My name is Kalea Gervasi. I'm 17 years old and surfing is my passion. I think surfing makes me a better person each day and having this sport in my life has given me the opportunity to share with other cultures and get to know people from around the world as well as realize the contamination in the sea and how bad it is in several countries, specially my country which has a terrible amount of trash. I wish people could be more conscious about this and stop contaminating the sea. I love to travel around the world and surf different types of waves no matter how challenging they are.
