“I first tried surfing on a school trip when I was 14,” Georgina recalls. “After that, my dad and I became weekend warriors, chasing waves whenever we could.”
Her passion for the sport grew stronger when she moved to Aberystwyth for university, where she studied Agriculture and found a sense of community in the surf club. “Aber was brilliant for making friends who loved the ocean as much as I did,” she says.
For the past 15 years, Georgina and her husband have called Pembrokeshire home. She has worked as both a farm worker and an outdoor activity instructor, fully embracing the coastal lifestyle. But surfing has always been a constant.
Wanting to push her limits and connect with other female surfers, she threw herself into competitive surfing, even taking on the UK Pro Tour on shortboard for a few seasons.
These days, longboarding has become her focus—especially since becoming a mum to a lively five-year-old daughter and an even busier two-year-old son. With her husband often working away, she credits her parents and friends for helping with childcare so she can still sneak in short surfs.
Between running a small B&B near Newgale and raising two young children, Georgina still finds time to get to work in the water. Her dedication and talent have now earned her a spot on the Welsh team heading to the ISA World Longboard Championships in El Salvador.

I'm Blake Jones, 19 and an apprentice electrician from Porthcawl south wales. I surf as much as I can when I can, which unfortunately isn't that much. It seems the surf's always pumping when I'm in work and flat when I can go! From a Construction Site to the World Championships Getting to this event was a huge deal for me, with being selected, getting time off work, and saving the money to get here. I made a fundraiser for team wales which thankfully covered some of the costs. Huge thanks to everyone back home for the support. How I Started long boarding when I was a little grommy, it was a shortboard or die. If you long boarded, you were either and old man or not good enough to shortboard. One day, on a trip in west wales with my dad when I was 12 the surf was about 1ft, but absolute clean glass. I wasn't going to surf, but it was a warm day, and dad offered me to use his mal. That surf I probably caught 100 waves, and I was hooked ever since. A longboard to me is a tool, when the waves aren't the best, or are small and classic conditions, I longboard. When it's big, I shortboard. Props to the old man Nigel Jones, with out that day in West wales I wouldn't be here now, and ill be at home annoyed that the surf is small!
From Saltburn, North Yorkshire. Surfed since age 7. Co-owner of Saltburn Surf Shop with my Dad (Gary Rogers). Competed last year, stoked to be selected to represent Wales again this year.
