My name is Bianca Dootson. I am 23 years old and am born and raised in Santa Cruz CA. I have dual citizenship with Germany and am so proud to represent them at ISA. I work full-time as a paraprofessional at Chartwell School. I graduated from University of California Santa Cruz with a BA in Psychology and Earth Sciences. I will be attending Point Loma Nazarene University in the fall to pursue a MA in Clinical Counseling with a LMFT. I enjoy fishing and snowboarding outside of surfing as well as playing cards with friends and walking my dog, Moro. 

I was born in Germany and now live on the beautiful island of Sardinia, where Ive studied to become a maritime archaeologist but also produce olive oil together with my family. My passion for sailing, diving, and everything related to the sea naturally led me to start surfing here. While the Mediterranean waves can be a bit unpredictable, that unpredictability adds to the local surf culture and makes it a truly special  place with a special community.

Together with my friends from the Bulli Surf Club Castelsardo I started competing. First in the Italian Championships and then in the German Championships. In 2023, I reached an important milestone by participating in the ISA World Championship, the European Championship, and my first regional WSL Longboard Qualifying Series events.

Now, I’m excited to be back for my third ISA World, proudly representing Team Germany! 

Born with the unique opportunity to have the worlds best stationary Riverwave the 'Eisbach' right around the corner, I started surfing all around europe for a couple of years before starting to Longboard. I qualified through the German Nationals in 2024 for the National Team. Last Year i moved to Ericeira from Munich to be able to surf more and study Graphic Design.  My drive for Design has always focused around sustainability so I started shaping with more and more Sustainable Materials (@madshapes) and will create a Book about sustainable Surf Projects for my Master Thesis the coming months.  Looking forward to meeting all the fellow competitors, Come and say hi im always open to chat;)

I grew up far away from the ocean in Germany and started surfing at age 12 together with my family when we were on vacation. Since then I've spent my summer school holidays in France where I also worked as a surf instructor when I was 16 to be able to be by the ocean for as long as possible. After finishing high school and before starting my studies in Berlin I worked as a flight attendant for two years which allowed me to travel and therefore surf more. Through surfing I also found my second big passion - yoga. Today I work as a yoga teacher and have my own business.
