My name is Sitipong Henry Chapman.  I am currently 22 years old and I was born in Krabi, Thailand. At the age of 7, I discovered surfing through seeing clips of people surfing online. After a year of just having fun, I started to become more serious, wanting to focus on improving my skills to one day be competing.  I started my journey in Phuket, mastering all the basics and progressing quickly. I began to train in Australia with some of top coaches and facility’s. This skyrocketed my progress, quickly cementing my skills in competitions. When I first started  to compete.   After years of competition. I have now won multiple national contest at home and being crowned national champion twice. Being recognized as the top shortboard surfer for my country.  In 2019 I had the opportunity to represent my country in the SEA games Philippines. I made podium and won a bronze medal, taking third for Thailand.    As of the past year I gained a new  interest in riding alternative crafts with a passion for longboarding. I started enjoying the glide and learning the art of trim. I began competing, winning first in a couple.  I also joined international contest resulting in a podium finish in Taiwan. As I currently stand I am ranked joint ninth in Asia. My focus now is to continue to progress my longboarding, Elevate Thai surfing to the  highest level and ultimately, to compete in the world tour as a Thai longboarder

I was born in Surin, Thailand,(Not Taiwan)
and moved to work by the sea in Phang Nga in 2013.

I started surfing seriously in 2018, learning on my own from YouTube and getting tips from Thai surfers who had been riding waves before me.
In the beginning, I was so obsessed that I’d drive out before sunrise every morning, sit by the beach with a small breakfast, and wait for the waves. That dedication paid off—I improved quickly and was eventually selected to represent Thailand in the 2019 Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) in the Philippines, where I won a bronze medal for my country.

That moment was a game changer. It not only put Thailand on the map for surfing but also inspired more women in my country to take up the sport. <3

Competing in the ISA WLC 2025 is the biggest challenge of my surfing journey so far—not just because of the tough travel logistics, but also because I don’t get to surf big waves very often. Still, I want to give it my all in the sport I love. And honestly, it’s an honor to compete on the same stage as all my surfing idols.

Right now, I run a surf school called Memories Surf House in Phang Nga, alongside an amazing little community of surfers I consider family. If you ever visit Thailand, make sure to stop by Khaolak—our little surf town. The waves may not be huge, but I promise the food is amazing! :D

Come experience our nature and culture, and you’ll leave with a smile (and maybe a little sunburn). And hey, if you drop by, I’ll treat you to some mango sticky rice! 🌊🏄‍♀️✨
