My name is Bart Beentjes, 34 years old. 2012 6th of July, I was on my way, riding on my motorcycle, to my work on Schiphol airport Amsterdam when I was involved with a car/motorcycle accident. I was hit by a car, he didn't see me. Multiple fractions, 10 strokes/brain injuries, and almost everything from my body was broken The following years were a struggle.. But in 2016 I met my wife, couple of years later our 2 boy's were born, I learn about this crazy sport and now we are here!

I am a go-getter. My brain injury has a lot of impact in my daily life. I heard about a foundation who helps people surfing who have had a rehabilitation after neurological condition. I wanted this too! I have trained hard to walk again, ride a bike again and now i surf in the sea!

After a brain surgery I suffer from balance issues and vision issues. I also have ataxia disturbances. I started surfing more than a year ago to increase stabilty and to have fun on the water. At the moment of posting this lineup my paasport is out of date. The new version is on its way.
