I was born in SW France to a Welsh mother and Australian father and nowadays spend most of the year in France.  I spent my younger years growing up between France and Victoria in Australia and was lucky enough to learn to surf betwween these two beautiful places with my Dad and younger brother and sister.  I'm grateful that my Dad is a shaper and can help me alot with my boards.

I recently started snowboarding and love spending time in the mountains with friends during the winter months.

Surfing is very important for me and my hearth. 

I have multiple sclerosis and the surf saved me.

I would like people to know that after my accident, it was sport that saved me. Today I live only for sport I practiced a lot at a high level, I had the chance to know several France teams in several disciplines and to make a lot of beautiful encounters. Now I'm aiming for the top level and the Paralympics in 2028 in surfing. 





I would like all people who have an accident to know the happiness I have known through sport this is what has allowed me to rebuild myself and be stronger.

I am a multiple sclerosis warrior and I am involved in lot of associations in France to promote and defend invisible disabilities but women in sports also.

I'm a local in Anglet, France. I'm married with 2 kids. When my health started to decline in 1998, I went on a trip around the world that lasted 7 months.  I've surfed in off-the-beaten tracks destinations like Ghana, the Andaman Islands ( India) and Madagascar.  Once, in Fiji, my boat capsized while surfing a reef a very long way from shore. We got rescued after a while.   

Précision Position : allongée (Prone2).

Précision board: je n'ai pas encore de planche personnelle, j'utilise celle de l'école inspir'ocean. Pour l'instant ma préférée est une 7' avec un nose fin. Pour les ailerons (nombre, position) nous faisons encore des test. 

Je suis amputée des 4 membres depuis 2010. J'ai dû abandonner beaucoup de mes hobbies après le handicap : danse moderne jazz, sport en eau vive (canyoning, rafting, hydrospeed, kayak...), baignade à l'océan, randonnées en haute montagne (Pyrénées). J'ai aussi dû renoncer à mon métier d'enseignante.

Je viens juste de débuter en surf. Mon premier cours en mai 2022. Ma kiné connaissant ma frustration de ne plus pouvoir aller à l'océan, m'a parlé d'un moniteur de surf qui pratique le surf adapté. Cela a été un grand bonheur de pouvoir retourner dans l'eau, j'ai même retrouvé la sensation de glisse. Le surf m'apporte beaucoup de bien-être. Et aussi j'ai rencontré un groupe de personnes formidables lors des compétitions et des stages (training). Ils sont devenus très importants pour moi.

Visually impaired since the age of 2 because of a brain tumor.

Lou, who has always dreamed about it, started surfing when her health allowed it after 5 years of heavy treatments (chemotherapy...) and then very quickly became fond of competitions.

Today her vision can be translated as follows:

- Complete blindness in her left eye (she can perceive some lights)

- She sees as if through a straw with her right eye (tubular vision) with a very low visual acuity.

This is her second participation in the ISA World Para Surfing Championship, she is happy to wear the colors of France and to be again in front of athletes from around the world.

"The Waves have the power to make me forget the disability".

I m so happy to go to California to surf Pismo Beach. I will give my best. 

I am 12 and the youngest competitor at the event this year.

I am blind and surf since the age of 7 in various French spots.


I am proud to be part of the French team and to participate first the fisrt time to international event.

Beyond surf, I love classical music and play the flute.
