Hello,
I'm llywelyn Williams , Born and raised in Abersoch, North Wales.

I Started surfing when i was 12 with the local Youth club and got hooked!!
I lost my leg above the knee at 16 after being hit by a car while longboarding (skateboarding), in September 2011 and shockingly recovered and made it home before Christmas.
I suffered many injuries including a shattered pelvis,  split liver dislocated hips, collapsed lungs..

As i woke up in hospital my drive was always to get back into the surf. I remember telling my friend when i woke up from my coma that i wanted to surf again and do it better than before.
My friends and family decorated my hospital room in pictures of waves , chicks in bikinis and surfing as well as filling the room with sex wax air fresheners! It bought all the nurses in as it was the best smelling room in the hospital!


I Started competing in para surfing events around the world. Starting off in 2016 and placed 5th in the ISA world champs.(MY first ever competition)

I have now competed in 51 competitions and have had 50 podium finishes. (MY first being the one I missed out on the podium)

I also organize the welsh para surfing surfing championships held at a wave pool that was also the first ever adaptive competition to happen in Wales at Surf Snowdonia, in 2019.
This event is something I am hoping to carry on with as we have now built a para surf league which will includes 7 spots so far around the world!
I help out on local beach cleans at hells mouth each year between most storms when we get reports of big objects washed up on the beach.



Becoming the world champion in 2022 was such a amazing feeling and honor to be representing my county and hearing the national anthem on stage! Its given me such a boost to now give even more of my time to surfing and progressing my level! I also became the first ever welsh surfing world champion. I couldnt believe it! Carwyn williams was the closest to it back in the 80s !
I've been working on different boards and I'm getting pretty close to finding that perfect board for me and my style of surfing.



My aim is to find more sponsors that have a interest in helping me throughout this year and helping para surfing grow around the world .

2025 goal is to have the Welsh para surfing championships up in Scotland where they have now just opened the biggest wave pool in Europe.

I'm a massive tea drinker and I really enjoy Adaptive skiing as well. I create and build my own Adaptive ski equipment, I have a small business called Arctic Fox where we aim to build the best Adaptive equipment on the planet and bring it to the market within the next one or two years. I really enjoy language as meeting people and I have backpacked around te place in my Wheelchair a number of times.
