Gaëlle is a candidate on the Belgian TV show “De Droomfabriek” (“The Dream Factory”), a program where people share their biggest dreams and the show helps make them come true. Last year, Gaëlle was saving up for a big surf trip. Unfortunately in september last year, she suffered a work accident that left her paralyzed from the waist down. Now in a wheelchair, her greatest dream remains to learn para surfing and experience that surf adventure abroad, and we're trying to make her dream come true. As part of the show, we have given Gaëlle her first para surfing lessons back home and registered her for the Para Surfing World Championship in San Diego—as the first Belgian to ever participate.  Gaëlle knows she'll be unlikely to achieve top scores, since she's only been para surfing since last month, so it's more of a symbolic participation, to put Belgium on the map at the Para Surfing World Championship, but first and foremost as a clear message to Gaëlle that she should never give up on her surf dream. Her optimism and determination will be a real inspiration for our Belgian viewers.
