Surfing, woodworking, snorkeling, off-roading, skiing
Living on the island of Maui and grew up in Southern California. Snapped my neck (C5) 20 yrs ago. I enjoy woodworking, skiing, surfing, and everything outdoors. It's been a wild ride, and there's an endless number of friends and family I'm lucky enough to enjoy it with. Many thanks to all the generous people who offer their time, energy, and Aloha for water support, along with Da Foil Monsta, Adaptive Maui, AccesSurf, Disabled Sports Eastern Sierra, and Southwest Airlines.

I am a scientist as well as an athlete. I work in a lab that studies spinal cord injury. I was injured in graduate school and learned how to do research as a wheelchair user in order to complete my PhD. I love being outside, getting a little scared, getting tired, and finding balance in my life between the outdoor and the indoor persuits.
