surfer since he was 9 years old. In the 70s, surfing was not very well regarded in venezuela and he had to escape from school to go surfing. He made his first surfboard at the age of 12. He was then lucky enough to meet Oscar Lopez (Pericles), where he gained knowledge by sharing experience with renowned shapers such as Tom Everly.  Juan eradicated in Panama since 2000, founder and owner of the Paunch Surf Corp factory in Bocas del Toro. Father of Juampi Caraballo who has participated in several ISA events representing Venezuela. Juan has suffered two accidents that almost cost him his life and the doctors told him that he would never suffer again, he lost the quadricep of his left leg and broke his neck, compressing 50% of the spinal cord, today without a muscle and with 4 screws in the neck, against all odds Juan continues surfing and staying active at 52 years of age. juan is  Co-founder of the Caribbean Open Mater in Bocas del toro , where the elite master of Latin America participated and the legend Tom Curren.   Juan  also  had participated in the ISA as a coach of the Panama surf team on two occasions.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         Juan's greatest inspiration is his wife with whom he has been married for 34 years , and his childrens!!!!!   family always comes first!!!!!    Competing in an ISA world championship is part of his  life  check list  !!!!!
