Kat Rosene grew up in Tsawwassen, BC and spent her early years as a highly competitive swimmer. She later moved to Ucluelet in her twenties and fell in-love with surfing and started a family with her husband Jay Rosene. She is the 2 time open woman's champion and recently placed 4th in Pro division. She continues to search for waves and adventure with her family.

I started surfing in my teens but fell in love with the sport later in life. I partnered with my wife in a surf school over the past 20 years, while raising two daughters on the west coast of vancouver island. Our school is home to tha famous "torpedo kids" surf camps, located at longbeach surf shop. I have been working with the national program for many many year as the beach marshall, and plan on being the longest serving marshall in the history of canadian surfing. My goal are to make a few heats at the ISA games, but most importantly teach my kids that its all about having fun.
