Besides surfing, anything outdoors with my wife, Mellisa & kids Adam & Bella, Also enjoy skating with my kids.
I come from a big family who all enjoy surfing and the beach life. My wife Mellisa and Kids , Adam and Bella are my biggest supporters and are my everything. My brothers, Orrin, Jethro and Tristan push me hard in the water when surfing. My twin brother Orrin pushes me the hardest especially in the small waves. My sister Jasmine also enjoys surfing when she gets the chance. My mom, Marilyn has always pushed me to do my best and have fun. My brother Jethro Johnson represented South Africa at the ISA World SUP Championships last year. I started surfing at the age of 11 with my twin brother Orrin. We were hooked straight away. I went to world junior champs in 1999 in Australia where i came 9th overall. I have 5 South African Masters titles. I am currently the Chairman of our surfing club Border Surfriders Association in East London. I get to surf heats with former world masters champ, Greg Emslie, quite often. Its always a good challenge with Greg in the water. Other top surfers i share the water with in east london are Wayne Monk, Andre & Dave Malherbe, Devyn Mattheys, Dan Emslie, Nick Pike and more I also enjoy giving back to the community teaching people how to surf. My friend, Jono Bruton and I started a non-profit organization called Saltyhour in Gonubie, East London where we teach anybody that would like to learn to surf. Saltyhour is 1 hour of pure stoke on most Saturdays of the year.

My name is Heather Clark, aka Fergie, I was given that nickname by Cori Schumacher in Australia, during my 1st year on the WQS and it has stuck.
I spent a total of 14 years on the world tour, of which 7 years was on the WCT now known as the WSL. My highest world ranking being 3rd in the world in 2003. In 2000 I won the prestigous Vans Triple Crown of Surfing in Hawaii, the only South African, male or female, to have ever won this title.
This will be my 5th time representing my country South Africa at the ISA World Masters. In 2008 I won Gold in Peru. In 2010 I won Gold in Panama. In 2011 I won Silver in El Salvador and in 2013 I won Silver in Equador.
I am an 8 x South African Open Ladies Champion, and a 6 x South African Masters Ladies Champion.
I now run my own surf school Heather Clark Surf Adventures. As a surf instructor I love sharing my passion and tour stories with my surf students, teaching them to discover the joy of surfing and develop thier skills.
