Hey I'm Ava and I'm 16 years old from a little town called Sumner in Christchurch, NZ. I'm currently going to school in Raglan where I am part of the surf academy. I'm super stoked to be representing my country again at ISA worlds. I also can't wait to meet new people, surf with some of my best mates, and be back in California!

I live in New Plymouth, Taranaki, NZ where I can surf nearly every day at many world class breaks such as Fitzroy, Backs and Stent Road. I'm in my final year of high school where I'm a house captain. Most weekends I'm either surfing locally or on the road around NZ to compete. My highlights so far with surfing are: Carissa Moore Scholarship to Hawaii, representing NZ at the 2019 and 2022 ISA World Junior Champs and of course now the ISA World Surfing Games. I am the Current Aotearoa Maori Open Womens Champ, leading the Surfing New Zealand 2022 U18 Girls division, and the NZ U18 Billabong Series winner.
I've been studying at university the past few years and haven't been focussing on international comps, but when I got the call up I was excited to take on the challenge.
