Pauline Ado was not born into a surfing family - but she was born of the generation where anything is possible. At the tender age of 8, Pauline asked her parents for a surfboard. She loved the feeling of being in the ocean and the challenge of taking on its ever-shifting moods.
Ironically she hated competition at first. That is, until she started winning.
Pauline was 10 when she scalped her first victory and it wasn’t long before sponsorship deals were flooding her mailbox and she was jetting off to exotic surf breaks to trade waves with her surfing idols.
After a successful junior career where she clinched both the ISA world junior and the ASP world junior title, Pauline’s thirst for victory coupled with a flair for tactical surfing, has seen her pierce the Top Ten of the WCTin her rookie season.
In 2011 Pauline set another benchmark by qualifying as the first ever European woman for a second year in the prestigious ASP World Tour. She says: “I try to surf with people better than me as motivation, to push me to grow. I watch some of the top girls and try to work out their strategies, what type of maneuvers score them the highest points, and then I build that into my own performances.”
In 2013, she finished ranked 9th in the world for the second time in her career.
In 2015, after 4 consecutive years on the top 17, Pauline fought back and requalified for the 2017 season.
She clinched the ISA World title that year in her home soil. A title she had been chasing for several years.
In July 2021, one of her childhood dreams came true when she participated in surfing's very first Olympics in #Tokyo2020 ! This unforgettable experience made her hungry for more...
Pauline now has 2 main goals : get back on the World Championship Tour and represent France for the Paris 2024 Olympics in her home country !
To be continued...

- Proud to represent the French Caribbean: a beautiful little island named St Barth but also Guadeloupe where i spent a lot of time during my childhood to surf and train with the Guadeloupeen league. - I've been struggling on the WQS for many years, but since last year i decided to change and now i have a new team (coach, shapper, mental coach), new routine ! I'm on a new dynamic and feel ready for any challenge ! - My boyfriend is coming from combat sports, he's been teaching me boxing and kick-boxing that is helping me a lot to develop my mental and physical capacities: stay lucid & focus while having a big amount of information and a high cardio frequency. (its good for coordination too!) - Last time i competed with the French Team on ISA was at the ISA world juniors in oceanside in 2015 when i won.

Born and raised in Guadeloupe (French caribbean) moved 3 years ago to Ericeira/ Portugal while still representing France on the World surf league, I have been competing on the CS for 8 years now way back when they use to call it "Primes".
Dad is a shaper, mom use to windsurf... my whole life has always been around the ocean plus I'm addicted to competitions borderline perfectionist, I expect a lot out of myself when it comes down to surfing.
i did a couple ISA Juniors in the past, it was always a great experience. I'm back now in the Open division this time, bring it on!
