Robin is a 38-year old free surfer from the West Coast of Ireland. He's a full-time self-employed cabinet maker & family man, finding time to teach his daughters to surf & volunteer for the West Coast Surf Club in between chasing swells on the Emerald Isle. Late to the competitive surfing party, he found his feet qualifying for the Irish National team, motivated after sustaining a traumatic compound tib/fib fracture.
Supported by & grateful for his wife Lexi, daughters Sam (7), Lana (5), friends, family & community.

I am Irish National Womens Champion. I live in the South East of Ireland and love surfing roadtrips in Ireland in my campervan , especially the North West and West Coast. I was a secondary school Mathematics and Physical Education Teacher, but currently working in computers (Data Engineer). I also spent some time in Indonesia in the Mentawai islands teaching groms (home-school) while surfing a lot!
I am blessed to have grown up in my home towns of Castlederg and Rossnowlagh Beach; with my beautiful family, friends and Rossnowlagh Surf Club community around me.
I am a physiotherpaist who is passionate about living a happy and healthy lifestyle and empowering others to do the same.
I am proud to have represented Ireland at previous World and European International events; as a surfer, a coach with our Junior Irish Surf Team and as a judge (Eurosurf 2023)/ shadow judge (ISA Womens Judging Programme, California 2022). I am thankful for opportunities to progress my own knowlegde and experience, with the hope of positively influencing the grassroots of our surfing community.

Surfing
I’ve grown up in the northwest, near Bundoran which has probably the best waves in Ireland and some of the best waves in the world. Because of that, it’s hard not to try out surfing at some point. My Dad is a dedicated surfer and used to push me into lots of waves as a kid. It was in the first lockdown that I really got hooked on surfing. My family was lucky enough to live within 2km of a beach that as it turns out, has some decent waves. School was off which gave us tonnes of free time, so if a ripple was ever breaking, my brother and I would be on it!
