I was born in American Samoa and raised up in South Georgia (USA). My mom is full Samoan from the island of Upolu and dad is from Florida. They met while my dad was teaching Biology for American Samoa Community College and I was born shortly after. We moved to Georgia to get my mom off "the rock" and to spend time with my grandparents and family who were living in the south on my dads side.  I caught my first wave when I was 12, was instantly hooked, and havent stopped since! I moved back to Samoa when I graduated high school, attended and graduated from American Samoa Community College. I moved back to catch up with my Samoan roots, family, and culture. My family leases the land to Salani Surf Resort in Samoa and I have lots of Samoan family all over Samoa, Hawaii, New Zealand, and Australia. After living in Samoa for a few years, I moved to the North Shore of Oahu and spent several years there.I picked up SUP Surfing while working as a surf instructor for the Hans Hedemann Surf School at Turtle Bay. After a few years in Hawaii, I moved back to Georgia and started my own business (J.LAY SUP) teaching surf lessons, offering guided SUP tours, and sharing the stoke with tourist and friends.

I am born and raised in Lāiʻe, Oʻahu. I am Samoan, Hawaiian, and Japanese. Given the oppurtunity to represent American Samoa and my Polynesian culture on the big stage is a dream come true. I want to be the first from my community to make it big out of surfing. I want to be an example to all of Polynesia so that one day I can say I paved the way for the next generation. I want to represent my people the best I can! With faith in god, anything is possible.
