Overview:
In collaboration with Olympic Solidarity, ISA Experts Tasha Mentasti and Shannon Brown delivered the following courses for the surfers from the Maldives Surfing Association:
• ISA Surf Level 1 Instructor Course (18 participants)
• ISA Surf Level 2 Coaching Course (6 participants)
• ISA/ILS Water Safety Course
• ISA Surf Safe Program
• ISA Judging Course (12 participants)
This week, 18 surfers completed the ISA Surf Level 1 Instructor Course, and 6 went further with the ISA Surf Level 2 Coaching Course — led by ISA Experts Tasha Mentasti and Shannon Brown in Malé, Maldives. All participants also received safety training through the ISA/ILS Water Safety course to ensure that their lessons maintain the global safety standard.
These are the people who’ll be teaching the next generation of Maldivian surfers. That’s how a surf nation is built.
As part of the same program with Olympic Solidarity, the Maldives Surfing Association community also participated in the ISA Surf Safe Program and the ISA Judging Course.
Instructors, coaches, safety teams, judges. The full ecosystem, built in one week.
This is what growing the sport from the ground up looks like. More on each course coming this week.
