Overview:
The 2025 ISA Development Program (YDP) was held from May 10–18 in Tofo, Inhambane Province, Mozambique. Organized by the International Surfing Association (ISA), this program includes a Level 1 Judging Course, Level 1 Surf Instructor Course, ILS Water Safety Workshop, and a local surfing competition.
This initiative is crucial for developing Mozambique’s surf ecosystem. It provides international certifications, builds local capacity in surf instruction, judging, and water safety, and helps lay the foundation for a sustainable surf industry.
The inclusion of a local surfing contest not only allows participants to gain hands-on experience but also highlights the local talent and strengthens community involvement. Promoting gender equity, youth empowerment, and ocean safety, this program is a key step toward long-term coastal and sports development in the region.
