I would like people to know that after my accident, it was sport that saved me. Today I live only for sport I practiced a lot at a high level, I had the chance to know several France teams in several disciplines and to make a lot of beautiful encounters. Now I'm aiming for the top level and the Paralympics in 2028 in surfing. I would like all people who have an accident to know the happiness I have known through sport this is what has allowed me to rebuild myself and be stronger.

Position de Précision : allongée (Prone2). Précision board : cette année nous avons travaillé à l'élaboration d'une planche. C'est le Shaper Rods qui l'a réalisé. Il s'agit d'une 6'2 en époxy . Pour les dérives (nombre, position) nous faisons encore des tests. Je suis amputée des 4 membres depuis 2010. J'ai dû beaucoup abandonner de mes loisirs après le handicap : danse moderne jazz, sport en eau vive (canyoning, rafting, hydrospeed, kayak...), baignade à l'océan, randonnées en haute montagne (Pyrénées). J'ai aussi dû renoncer à mon métier d'enseignante. Je viens juste de débuter en surf. Mon premier cours en mai 2022. Ma kiné connaissant ma frustration de ne plus pouvoir aller à l'océan, m'a parlé d'un moniteur de surf qui pratique le surf adapté. Cela a été un grand bonheur de pouvoir retourner dans l'eau, j'ai même retrouvé la sensation de glisse. Le surf m'apporte beaucoup de bien-être. Et aussi j'ai rencontré d'autres para surfeur,lors des compétitions et des stages (stage - entraînement) c'est un groupe de personnes formidables . Ils sont devenus très importants pour moi.

Lou, who has been visually impaired since the age of 2 due to a brain tumor, embarked on her surfing journey when her health permitted after enduring five years of intensive treatments. Her passion for surfing quickly transitioned into a love for competition.
Lou's vision is described as complete blindness in her left eye, where she can only perceive some lights, and "tubular vision" in her right eye with very low visual acuity.
Despite these challenges, Lou's determination has led her to be selected for the French national team for the fourth time. She takes great pride in participating in the ISA World Para Surfing Championship, where she and her team aim to defend their title as World Champions, representing France with honor.
Lou cherishes the opportunity to compete against athletes from around the globe. As she often says, "The waves have the power to make me forget the disability."
Beyond surfing, Lou is actively committed to promoting inclusion and raising awareness about the richness of diversity.

I am 14 and and this is my 3rd participation to the ISA World Championships after attending the Pismo event in 2022 and the Huntington event in 2023. I am blind and surf since the age of 7 in various French spots. I am proud to be part of the French team and to be able to take part of the event this year again. Beyond surf, I love classical music and I play the flute. I also practice boxing to keep in shape.

Licencié au Hossegor Surf Club à Hossegor, j'ai commencé le surf en mai 2020, suite à un rêve, alors que je n'avais jamais surfé. Le surf est devenu quasiment instantanément une passion suite à mon premier cours. Je me suis mis très vite à la compétition, j'ai toujours eu envie de me surpasser et de remporter des titres.
