Hello everyone! My name is Monique Oliveira, and I am an athlete and a therapist with cerebral palsy. Practicing sports helped me a lot with autonomy and self confidence.  Nowadays, I am studying to be an therapist, and help other people to seek their goals, just like me.

I'm a surfer from Praia Branca, i'm 23 years old and i like to spend the time surfing or playing soccer with my friends.

My principal objective is to be world champion, and represent my country.

Henrique started to surf with kneeboard in 1999, two years after being shot in the spine in a robbery in Rio de Janeiro (in which he had his bicycle stolen).

In 2007, with a group of friends, he founded the NGO ADAPTSURF, which gives free adaptive surfing lessons on weekends on the beaches of Rio de Janeiro. 

Henrique was the 2018 ISA World Champion and is the current (2023) National Champion.

He moved to California this year and currently lives in Pismo Beach.

Apaixonada pelo mar, pelas estrelas, por uma vida colorida com natureza e pessoas diferentes. Estudante e praticante de sistemas holisticos. Quer viver num coletivo inclusivo, justo e onde se tenha respeito pela natureza. O Kneeboard é diversão, terapia, e um otimo momento para fazer amigos. É bom viajar, estar com pessoas e conhecer maneiras diferentes de se fazer as coisas. Mas também é bom estar em casa, os livros, o café e as conversas além do cotidiano.

2024 realzei um ano de surf em Punta Hermosa Peru, Baia Formosa Brasil e Balnéario Camboriu. 2025 quero continuar viajando para realizar o sonho de voar no surf.

When I was 8 years old, I lost the strength in my legs and couldn't walk, I went to physiotherapy but it didn't come back when I was 15 years old. I started surfing, stopped for 20 years and 2 years ago I started surfing again and competing.

I was born in Rio de Janeiro, loved the de sea and swimming, but lived most of my life away from the ocean. Lost my legs at 45 days old at a domestic fire accident. I've always dreamed of surfing and only after raising my 5 daugters I could reach my goal and dedicate to surfing. I've always been an athlete: first horsing, then rowing (silver medalist on national championship 2019). I began surfing in 2018, at Surf sem Fronteiras surf association, and I started to take it seriously by 2023 when Roberto Pino, world champion, reached her on her Instagram profile and inspired her to compete. Since then, I've opened many doors and falled in love with the surfing world. Today I dedicate myself to surfing, being an online influencer, and talks. I am also a Tony Robbins certified RMT life coach, with clients from all over the world. CURIOSITIES: Have lived a different life from many: lived at a farm, on the cowntryside of Brazil for 15 years, homeschooled my kids, worked as a painter (degree on arts), and translator. I can samba dance! I've volunteered all my life. I love singing at the car while driving. I aspire on inspiring as many people as possible to believe they can, despite of all the odds, you can always rise and surf the waves of life!

My name is Luciano, my nickname is Nem. I am a local from Joaquina beach, wich is located in Florianópolis, Santa Catarina. I world like to thank Allan my friends from the Joaquina Beach Association ( ASJ ), Who help me to be here today, realizing this dream of participating in this ISA Parasurfing World Championship.
