In 2019, Kelly Slater represented Team USA at the ISA World Surfing Games in Miyazaki, Japan.
It was the first time that Slater had represented the stars and stripes at the event in nearly 30 years, and despite his 47 years of age, Slater showed that he still has what it takes. Through an array of impressive aerials, turns, and barrels, he earned 5th place in the event out of 137 surfers.
