Surf City El Salvador to host the world’s premier junior surfing competition for the second time, May 3rd – 12th, 2024

The International Surfing Association (ISA) is pleased to announce that the 2024 ISA World Junior Surfing Championship (WJSC) will be hosted by Surf City El Salvador, May 3rd to 12th, 2024, at the now iconic waves of La Bocana and El Sunzal.
The 20th edition of the championship will be the second time for Surf City El Salvador to host the world’s best junior surfers, after the historic 2022 event.
33 out of the 40 Tokyo 2020 Olympic surfers previously participated in the WJSC, proving this prestigious event to be a direct pathway to the Olympic Games, with 16 of them claiming ISA World Junior medals, including Olympic Bronze Medalist Owen Wright (AUS) and current WSL World Champion Caroline Marks (USA).
Past ISA World Junior Champions also include Filipe Toledo (BRA), Gabriel Medina (BRA) and Stephanie Gilmore (AUS), along with Paris 2024 qualified surfers Tyler Wright (AUS), Tatiana Weston-Webb (BRA), Jordy Smith (RSA), Brisa Hennessy (CRC), and Leonardo Fioravanti (ITA).
