In line with our mission to develop the sport of Surfing in all of its forms across the globe, the International Surfing Association has taken an active role in the development and advancement of Para Surfing to create a global platform for universal access to the sport and enable Para Surfers the opportunity to achieve sporting excellence and inspire others.
The ISA’s leadership has spurred a worldwide growth of Para Surfing by unifying Para Surfing efforts across the globe and encouraging our Membership to adopt this discipline. The ISA has managed the technical aspects of Para Surfing with the development of an Para Surfing Classification System and Rulebook and receiving guidance from an advisory committee comprised of athletes, experts, and enthusiasts.
The ISA is fully committed to the development of Para Surfing across the globe and to creating the best opportunities for Para Surfers in the future. 2020 ISA Para Surfing Rulebook
ISA World Para (adaptive) Surfing Championship
Sine 2015 the ISA has hosted the ISA World Para (Adaptive) Surfing Championship and each has been the largest international Adaptive Surfing World Championship to date. The 2015 Adaptive Surfing Championship included 69 competitors from 18 nations and in 2021 the event featured 130 athletes from 24 nations. This world championship has created a stage for surfers with physical challenges to display their talents in world-class competition.
