This year’s WSUPPC is the 9th edition of the ISA event. SUP Racing and Paddleboard will be staged in the heart of San Juan’s famous Laguna del Condado and Bahia de San Juan. SUP Surfing is scheduled to take place in “La 8”, a well-known local break.

Below you will find all the relevant information for participating National Teams.


    Now – October 13:

    1. Team Roster Submission:
      Have one (1) representative from your National Federation confirm your team’s attendance to the ISA. If your team roster is ready, include the completed Team Roster_2022 WSUPPC and send to [email protected]
    2. Invoicing/ Payment:
      Once the ISA receives the Team Roster, or at least an indication of the total number of divisions being registered and total number of team officials/alternates/support/etc, we can proceed with an invoice. Payment of your invoice will be taken via Credit Card, PayPal ([email protected]), or wire transfer.As a reminder, registration is $275 and charged per division entry.
    3. Line Up Registration (available mid September):- The ISA is proud to be using The LineUp, a new online platform, for all event registration
      All participants (athletes and support personnel) are required to register through the LineUp.
      – Each team manager will be emailed an invitation link for their athletes and officials to join the Line Up platform.
      – Mandatory for Team Managers to have confirmed Team Roster to receive Line Up email.The LineUp will require the following:

      – Bio
      – Headshot: photo to be used for identification badges and profiles on the ISA website.
      – Photo must be from the waist up, against a white wall, without any accessories(hats, sunglasses, etc.), and preferably in team uniform (optional)
      – Passport photo
      – Consent to Code of Conduct Forms, COVID Commitment Letters, Anti-Doping Policy agreements, Indemnity Forms


    October 13:

    • Closing of Registration. All payment and online registration must be complete and received by the ISA to participate. If your team is submitting an international wire transfer, plan accordingly considering international transfers take several days to appear. We will not accept the participation of any unpaid individuals following October 13
    • Registration Fees:

      – The cost of registration is $275 USD per division.
      – Registration is charged to all those attending with the National Team. This includes coaches, managers, team doctors, team media, family, friends, etc.
      – All participants must be approved by the National Federation- National Teams will not be allowed to participate if there is any outstanding debt with the ISA.
      – Considering the 2022 ISA WSUPPC is a Qualifying Event for the 2023 Pan American Games, only ISA Members from territories with representation of a National Olympic Committee (NOC) are eligible to compete. This applies to all attending countries, regardless of continent. More information on Pan Am Games Qualification below.

        • The junior athlete must not turn 19 on/before December 31, 2022.

  • Board Shipment

    For any National Team interested in shipment/freight forwarding of equipment, the Local Organizing Committee recommends you contact Stevens Global Logistics, a company used by several local surf shops to import surfboards.
    Stevens Global Logistics can either deliver door to door, store the equipment at their facilities in San Juan, and can work through 3rd  party freight forwarders or provide the full service themselves.

  • 2023 Pan Am Games Qualification

    The Pan American (Pan Am) Games is a continental multi-sport event for countries from the Americas. The 2023 Pan Am Games will take place in Santiago, Chile from October 20 to November 5, 2023, of which Surfing (Shortboard, Longboard, SUP Surf, and SUP Race) will take part.

    The 2022 ISA WSUPPC will serve as one of the Qualifying Events for top ranking athletes from the Americas to qualify for the 2023 Pan Am Games. A summary of the athletes per discipline that will qualify are as follows:

    • SUP Race – top-ranking four (4) Men and top-ranking four (4) Women in the SUP Tech Race
    • SUP Surfing – top-ranking four (4) Men and top-ranking four (4) Women in the SUP Surf Division

    Only ISA Members from territories with representation of a National Olympic Committee (NOC) are eligible to compete at the 2022 ISA WSUPPC. This applies to all attending countries, regardless of continent.

  • Anti-Doping

    As a signatory to the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) Code, the ISA implements a strict adherence to the Code as a way to ensure a clean, healthy and fair sporting atmosphere for all athletes.

    In registering for the 2022 ISA WSUPPC, all athletes must adhere to the ISA Anti-Doping Rules which, among other requirements, states that all Athletes competing in ISA World Championships shall be subject to In Competition Testing at any time, with or without advance notice.

    Athletes are responsible for making sure any medication that is taken is not listed on the 2022 WADA Prohibited Substance List.
