National Calendar of Events and Objectives

  1. To carry out 10 National Championships: 3 Bodyboard ones with all categories, 3 Open Surf with all categories, 3 Junior Shortboard events with all categories and 1 National Master Championship.  Now we only have to secure a date for a possible National University Championship in order to choose the team that would represent us at the 1st Pan American University Games that will take place in Brazil.  We will also have three Latin American ALAS events, one IBA Tour event, and the almost certain possibility of holding the 1st World ISA Bodyboard Games, and the last event of the BB triple crown.  Finally, the national team will participate in the Billabong ISA World Surfing Games in Costa Rica, Bolivarian Games in Bolivia-Ecuador, Pan American Surfing Games, Pan American University Games, the ISA World Masters Surfing Championship, and the South American Beach Games.

  2. The 1st National Championship to take place on August 26-29 in Vargas State will be an event with all categories and modalities, except Junior Boarders. This event will be four to five days of competition.  We wish to thank the Vargas Association and its president, Yelitza Blanco, for her collaboration to make this event possible.

  3. The 2nd and 3rd National Bodyboard Championships will be carried out thanks to the support of the Aragua State Association and the Ocumar Coast Club presided by Mr. Henry Mariño.  The 3rd Championship will be carried out thanks to the BPF Organization of Miss Lumar Guittard.

  4. The 1st Master National Championship will take place thanks to the support of Rosa Carrión and José Gómez.  This event will be different because it will have a repercharge since the national team that will represent us in the ISA World Masters Surfing Championship will come out of this competition.

  5. The format of the different National Championships can be seen in the separate file called Dates and Format of the National Events in our homepage.

Though the schedule seems ambitious, the Venezuelan Surfing Federation – VSF, and its directory, together with all the people that are working together with us, are certain that it can be fully accomplished.  We are counting on everyone’s involvement.  We are also planning a series of important courses for June 28th; the place of which is soon to be confirmed.

These courses are vitally important to the development of our sport and participation should be massive. It’s very important for the athletes to participate mainly in the Judging Course.

In this sense we shall repeat on Wednesday June 17, just a day before the beginning of the National Junior Surf Championship, the course of High Competition with ISA accreditation administered by Nino Lauro and an High Competition Event Broadcasting course offered by Mono Barrientos, who is an ALAS, ISA and ASP Junior announcer.

At the same time, we have invited all the local brands and massive brands to contact the Federation through our phones and e-mail address in order to offer the opportunity to set up the guidelines of the different Federation events as well as possible sponsorship opportunities of the National Team athletes.
