2004 Tahiti ISA World Kneeboard Horue, Papara, Tahiti

2004 WKSC

June 28 - July 8, 2004, Papara, Tahiti -- The International Surfing Association (ISA) is very pleased to welcome you to the Tahiti ISA World Kneeboard Horue 2004 in Papara, Tahiti.

This event is officially sanctioned by the ISA and the KSI (Kneeboard Surfing International). It is hosted and organized by the Popoti Surf Club, headed by Mr. Christophe Holozet and has been granted recognition by the ISA's recognized National Governing Body for surfriding in Tahiti, the Federation Tahititenne de Surf, headed by Mr. Pascal Luciani.

With kneeboard surfing remaining a worldwide sport, and as a discipline recognized by the ISA, the ISA decided to step up the promotion of this specific competitive area by supporting the holding of the ISA World Kneeboard Championship, separate from the World Surfing Games (WSG).

Effectively, the kneeboard division has been removed from the World Surfing Games. This move to withdraw the Kneeboard division was taken by the ISA in 2003 in order to provide a singular focus on the Kneeboard Category and to support the hosting of a World Kneeboarding event, held exclusively for kneeboarders.

The ISA would like to thank the Tahiti ISA World Kneeboard Horue Organizing Committee and Staff, the Tahitian people and its government, the sponsors and all the participating kneeboarders from around the World, for making this history making event a reality.

*HORUE is the Polynesian word for SURFING CHAMPIONSHIP
