Register your surfschool with the ISA!

Dear Surfschool Owners / Managers and Surf Communities;

The ISA is recognized by the International Olympic Committee as the world governing body for the sport of surfing. Its members comprise all significant national surfing federations [54].

The ISA would like to offer your surfschool the benefits of belonging to the largest world wide program of ISA recognized Schools. A sure sign of respect and prestige for the leading surf schools around the world.

ISA Surfschool Register members are listed here as evidence of their commitment to the program – sign up your school and establish your credentials.

Play your part in establishing international standards of “best practice” and excellence in the surfschool industry in partnership with the ISA.

As a member of the ISA International Surfschool Register, each surfschool must sign off on commitments to follow a designated Risk Management Operational Plan and include within their lessons certain basic elements of “learn to surf” content.
Obligations of an ISA registered Surfschool

The Surfschool will have agreed to:

Follow a designated operational plan for safety during lessons
Establish emergency plans for each class location
Lodge completed “Coach Code of Conduct” forms for each employed coach
Include designated lesson content in their learner classes
Lodge designated surfschool accident reports with the ISA.
To only employ accredited coaches [subject to a provisional term].

Many surfschools will already be following all or most of these procedures and in their case it will mean little change to their activities. For others these requirements will set out an operational approach which will benefit their clients and the industry as a whole.

Any client of an ISA registered surfschool will be able to find the surfschool name in our International Register, knowing that the school has made a commitment to making their experience a quality one.

An ISA Registered Surfschool will receive:

ISA Registered Surfschool certificate
Right to use specified “ ISA Registered Surfschool “ Logo within promotion of their surfschool
Listing on the ISA International Surfschool Register appearing on this site.

Annual registration for the calendar year (beginning January 1, 2008) is USD$500. Surfschools joining the program throughout the year will be charged a pro-rated amount in year 1.
